I heard that their is a stage in teenagers that they judge themselves and everything that they have done?

is this true and if it is how long does it usalluy last and could you get rid of it faster?I heard that their is a stage in teenagers that they judge themselves and everything that they have done?
I've been doing that lately, and I'm a teen.

I think it just comes with growing up,...we're learning about life, and it's just new stuff coming at us...that we have to adapt to.I heard that their is a stage in teenagers that they judge themselves and everything that they have done?
You work through it when you become confident and stop caring so much about what others think of you.

The step after judging yourself deeply, which lasts different lengths for everyone, comes you not caring what others think about you or you finding others that are in the same 'crowd' as yourself who do not judge you as harshly as others...(thus you do not judge yourself as harsh.)

If you see a mistake in your life. improve on it. Emotions can get in the way of trying something new and improving your life.
I'm 18 and I'm going out into the real world so l Judge myself and everyting I've done to know if I will Make it.

  • Why do teenagers drink and smoke underage?

I mean in my town you can't into any store without seeing a teenager hiding in a corner of the store smoking or drinking, and 99% of they time they are underage, so why do they do it?Why do teenagers drink and smoke underage?
90% of teenagers are just trying to fit into some group. They gain their 'originality' by following what every other teenager is doing. They think because they can drink and smoke, they're awesome. What they dont realize, is that theyre not awesome, and they look stupid. Why do teenagers drink and smoke underage?
    because its fun!!!
Because they think it makes them grown up. When I see an under age kid drinking or smoking, I think not only that they are stupid and immature, they will regret this when they get older. Another question that enters my mind, who is the idiot that is buying or selling this stuff for the kids.
They Think It Makes Them Look Older...And Cooler.

    Which It Does Not, Kids.
As a teen, and speaking from experience, the feeling that you are ';getting away with something';, knowingly doing something illegal without getting caught, is as much a factor in underage drinkage and or smoking as anything.
wow thats actually a tough question now that i think about it. I'm 16, and I drink and smoke, but I'm trying to cut down on drinking (at least heavy drinking at parties), because it's just stupid and last time i passed out my money was stolen. As a kid i was brought up to believe that it was bad and only bad people do it (not necessarily from my parents, who let me drink, but society in general, such as the anti-drug commercials). when i was 12, I started becoming friends with kids who were pretty big potheads. If I knew they were potheads before, I probably wouldn't have become friends with them. But after I found out, I'm thinking, heres a great kid who I enjoy to hang out with but he smokes. SO what am I gonna do?? Stop being friends with him like they say on the PSA's? After that I didn't smoke it, but viewed it as a recreational choice, but something that I just didn't do. But I started to learn more and more about it. Besides it's mental impact it has on school if you're not responsible, it's harmful effects were greatly exaggerated. And the reasons for its prohibition wasn't promising either (to summarize the entire thing, the plant had to many uses and was to big of a competitor) Maybe I was just mad for being lied to by society. Maybe I felt badass for doing something illegal (I gotta admit it's not gonna be as cool if it's legalized. Doing something illegal makes you feel like you're one of the wise guys in Goodfellas) I started when I was 14 (even though i was in possession of it for like a year which I took from my uncle when he grew it in his mom's backyard. I was waiting for my best friends to come back from Abu Dhabi where they moved a year ago). After that I did it a lot at my camp, where they're very relaxed about it, and I listened to a lot of Bob Marley, and I now I feel spiritual whenever i smoke it, just like I feel when I light incense or, well, pray. And I've come to the conclusion that as long as you can keep control of yourself, if you have strong will, And don't let it effect your grades or aspirations then there is no harm being done. And unlike any other drug or even alcohol, Bud is naturaly. It's grown, dried, then smoked. No processing. That was a bit of a long answer wasn't it?
Drinking gives a buzz and smoking is ';cool';.

    Lol why else?
where you ever a teen. its because they want to be independent, grown up, maybe have issues at home, peer pressure, try it and liked it, piss off their parents, be cool, or just don't care. of course i never drank or did drugs and im now in my 30's, but i remember smoking a cig because i was pissed at my mom and thought i'd get her good and everyone else i know did drugs because of their own reasons. i stayed into being fit because i wanted to look good and knew what they would look like today.
    because they enjoy it.
well, i grew up in a town of about 250 people, so i drank for entertainment purposes. i don't know why people start smoking though.

Should teenagers accused of violent crimes be tried and sentenced as adults? Why or why not?

That is my prompt and i have to write a 6-8 paragraph and i have yet to start. I have a huge case of writers block. I have no idea how to start or how i can possibly write so much about this. HELP PLEASEE!!!!Should teenagers accused of violent crimes be tried and sentenced as adults? Why or why not?
Really depends on the crime. If they are accused of stabbing someone in the face or wiping out a family with a shotgun, then yes. If they got into a fight at the local arcade then no.Should teenagers accused of violent crimes be tried and sentenced as adults? Why or why not?
At ages 13-16 I don't think they should be tried as adults. After that age, it should be based on the individual case. My main reason is that teenagers are growing so quickly and hormones are influential, peer pressure, lack of self-esteem all could factor into the 'whys' of a crime. That isn't to say that they shouldn't suffer any punishment, I simply believe that each case is different. Why is there a voting age of 18? Why is drinking age regulated? Why do you need permission to marry under 18 in most states? Because the people are considered children, they think and act as children. No, they shouldn't then be tried as adults, which they aren't
That mole thinks i should go to jail my bro killed some1 and hes in jail and if some1 young killed my bro i wouldnt want that person to go to jail there is no point throwing away 2 lives

What is thbest deodorant to use for teenagers? GIRLS ONLY!!!?

I use secret platnum but at the end of the day sometimes even half way through the day I smell bad!!! I have to walk to and from school. All i need is a deoderant that will last a really long time. Thanks for all yor helpWhat is thbest deodorant to use for teenagers? GIRLS ONLY!!!?
secret clinical strength. teen spirit smells great. dove is good.

don't worry, as you get older this ';i'm sweating like crazy..'; problem will end. What is thbest deodorant to use for teenagers? GIRLS ONLY!!!?
It depends on the chemistry of one's body. A deodorant has to be changed from time to time to work effectively. Check labels on a solid stick men's deodorant to see if one would work for you. Odorless is best.
I had the same problem a couple months ago. Now I use Dove deodorant that smells like cucumber and green tea. It isn't strong at all and it works very well!
omg.. the best deoderant in my opinion is . SUAVE naturals, TROPICAL PARADISE. it smellss so good and when yu feel sweaty yu smelll it even morre. i absolutely lovve it.
degree women! i where it when i play soccer and id sweat in the pit area at all!
    Teen Spirit, Berry Blossom
    dove is good or sure
I use Suave now and back when I was in high school. It has always worked for me.

Also, u gotta put on more than a couple swipes.. how much are you putting on? and are you covering your whole armpit area? If you try other deordorants and still are having the same problem, I would go to the md because there is a stronger deordorant by prescription.
Don't get just a deodorant. Those only cover up the odors. Get an antiperspirant. Those are meant to control/stop the sweating from happening at all. Personally, I like Degree antiperspirant/deodorant. I get the unscented, so it doesn't conflict with whatever fragrance I wear. It seems to do the trick for me, even on the hottest days.
Use Secret: Clinical strength...it works good for me.....u can also see a dermatologist about your perspiration

To what extent are the values of teenagers shaped by mass media?

Teenagers have sponges for brains, and they absorb everything they see. How they process the information they see or hear is up to the individual. However the affects on an adolescent's values are bound to be as wide spread as they are evident.

An example: Ideologies can be influenced by things as simple and redundant as television shows. For example, an 18 year-old may decide on how to vote for the death penalty by simply watching a movie that depicts the sorrow and human cruelty of executions. Whether or not this was a Hollywood production or a reputable documentary, the impression is made on the adolescent.

Considering that the mass media surrounds teenagers every minute of the day, the extent to which their values change to the whim of the media cannot be accurately fathomed. However one should expect that any value could be influenced deeply, and higher education for the age group is the only way to counter the media.

After all, teenagers are the sponges, and if an education surrounds them more than the continuously streamed media, the education would influence their values; likewise to the effect of the mass media. To what extent are the values of teenagers shaped by mass media?

  • Do teenagers know that WHAT is not spelled WAT?

And that DOES is not spelled DOSE?

If they want to be treated respectfully and as adults, shouldn't they act like adults and leave the getto spelling at school.Do teenagers know that WHAT is not spelled WAT?
Realistically, the educated ones who use cheap spelling have become lazy. The uneducated ......... hey. that explains it all.

I agree with the act/treatment aspect of your question.Do teenagers know that WHAT is not spelled WAT?
    Heck ya' they do.

They just do it to get you pis*ed off.

Most can out spell all of us but it is how they separate themselves from the old fart's.

It's nothing to do with the ghetto (speaking of spelling).
i totally agree, they need good grammatical and English skills, it is the most annoying thing to read stuff that looks like a freaking puzzle. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE WE HAVE SPELL CHECK.
Do ';adults'; know that most of the time they come of sounding like pompus assholes?

Did you know that the wording in your second line is off?

If teens want to be treated as an adult with respect, they should act like adults and leave the ';ghetto'; spelling at school.

Next time get your sentence structure on track before you start bashing anyone on the use of the English language
Deliberately miss the ';h'; out of ghetto did we?

I toataly agree wit you, lol.
you definetly spelled ';ghetto'; wrong. coming from a teenager.
    Relax GRAMPA!
Haha. Sometimes I wonder if they do, in fact, know how to spell. I left the ';2'; for ';too'; or ';to,'; the ';u'; for ';you,'; the ';c'; for ';see,'; etc. way back in junior high. I understand it's just quicker to use that sometimes but in my opinion, it makes a person appear very juvenile when they type in that format.
    Whole language strikes again.
Isn't ';getto'; spelled ';gHetto?'; Why don't people use the spell check? I mean I totally agree with you but bad spelling throws the attention off of the issue of the question and onto the spelling and, sometimes, the education of the person asking it. How can you criticize others poor spelling, when you didn't spell check and spelled something in your question wrong?
I chalk it up to being uneducated...it's not hard to spell correctly!

P.S. If they would notice, there is spell check available!
spelling ';what as ';wat'; is fine, it increases typing speed with less to type, isn't that the basis of shorthand anyway or was that way ahead of your time as well.

however spelling ';does'; as ';dose'; is sumthing i dun agree on

p.s. notice that ';don't'; is spelled as ';dun'; and ';something'; is spelled as ';sumthing';....i probably finished typing the sentences above 1 sec faster than i would have if i had spelled everything correctly....lol....btw im not a teenager

What is a good cruise line for teenagers?

Hands down the best cruise line for teens is Royal Caribbean because they have THE best on-board activities. Royal Caribbean ships have these type activities for you:

    - use the mini-golf course and/or a golf driving range or golf simulator

    - use the roller blade track and/or an ice skating rink. If there is an ice rink there will be an ice show like the ice capades

    - use the rock climbing wall.

    - use the full sized basketball/volleyball/tennis court

    - play table tennis

-use the over sized Chess/Checker sets and shuffle board

    - use the walking/ jogging track

    - play in the video arcade

-use the kids only area, some with a pool and/or water slide

    - use the teens only area, some including a teen disco

The ships you should look at are the Royal Caribbean Freedom Class and Voyager Class ships. They are the newest and the best:

or wait and go on the oasis of the seas even bigger
i say royal caribbean i have been on carnival and NCL Princess etc. They are all fun but i think canival is to childish and NCL doesnt always have a teens club even though in their discription they say they do and Princess is more of an adult cruise.
Ok that's good to know. I am going on Carnival Glory for Thanksgiving 2008. Its my first cruise and i am real excited. Being a 16 yr old that likes to party.... a club and grinding pretty much makes my vacations.
    Carnival!

    24x7 pizza

    24x7 ice cream

    Teen disco

    Relaxed atmosphere

We love to sail Carnival with our teen and tween. They can enjoy their vacation w/o Mom and Dad hovering over them!

Royal Caribbean, Carnival %26amp; Disney. Disney may seem like its only for little kids, but it's not. They have their own hang out %26amp; beach :D
I've been on Carnvial cruises and they actually have a dance club for teens.....people grind and you can meet other teens your age. It's really fun if you want the action.. ; )
i went on carnival it was pretty good.

Why is drunk driving a problem for teenagers?

I need it for a project please help in complete sentecesWhy is drunk driving a problem for teenagers?
There's no definite answer for that question, but some common beliefs are:

Since the drinking age is 21 here in the states (many other nations its between 16-18) teens tend to ';rebel'; or act out and decide to drink. It holds a certain charm/appeal because they aren't supposed to/allowed to do it. As a result, they drink, assume they're fine (a bit of the ';I'm young and therefore can't die/have bad things happen to me'; mentality), and then get in the car.

There's also the fact that not all teens are educated in the effects of alcohol. I know when I was in High School is was just ';Drinking is bad. You get drunk. You can get killed. Its bad for your liver.'; and that was about it. All of those are very vague points that never received any full explanation. Since a majority of teens get about the same minimal information I did, they don't fully understand its effects.

Peer pressure can also be a pretty common one. A teen goes to a party, someone happened to bring alcohol with them. Everyone else starts drinking, the teen feels left out or has their friends egging them on with a ';Just one sip won't hurt'; sort of deal, and it goes from there.

Most commonly though, in my experiences, I have found it is the first point I made that occurs. Teens in the states aren't allowed to drink, their parents punish them (or other adult/authority figures) for drinking. So it holds the ';taboo'; charm and becomes a ';must do'; for them.

Growing up, I've always been allowed to drink (since I was about 10ish) so long as it was within my parent's household (or another relative's.) As a result, drinking never seemed like an exciting, big deal to me. I rarely drink now. Whereas, a friend of mine lived under very strict conditions in their parent's home and just about everything was forbidden. The second we would go to a party, they'd be chugging down tons of a drinks. Why is drunk driving a problem for teenagers?
Overall this problem has not gotten enough publicity and awareness鈥?most parents don鈥檛 realize that their kids have access to alcohol nonetheless that they 鈥榤ay鈥?be driving drunk.

The solutions to this problem encompass education, awareness, preventing access to alcohol, and most of all prevention.
I think there's 2 problem that comes together for this. First there problem with teens drinking and getting drunk. Then there's the problem of teen with lack of self control (or lack of experience).

And you put that in one group, you get drinking and driving.

    ===

Remember that you don't need HIGH percentage of teens doing this. Even just few in a town can run havoc with public safety.

    Good Luck...
because teenager think they are friggin invincible! they have the ';it can't happen to me'; mentality.. most grow out of it by their middle 20's

What theme painting would you have in a pool/amusement center that all the teenagers use?

im 16 and have just been asked to design, and paint, a wall in the amusement center, because I'm the best in town(small town lol)

anyway, im wondering that yo think the wall should be painted as? its behind a pool table...anyone have any ideas of what kind of theme/design should be painted? mostly teenagers use the centerWhat theme painting would you have in a pool/amusement center that all the teenagers use?
skateboarding, surfing, party, cars, etc. What theme painting would you have in a pool/amusement center that all the teenagers use?
Well, personally, I think it depends on the lighting of the area.

If the area is dimly lit, I would paint a cartoonish/characature of the back view of a car parked under the stars at night by a lake with the silohettes of a guy and a girl over-dramatically kissing with crazy puckered lips.

If it's filled with natural sunlight, I would paint a beach scene with lots of surfer dudes and beach babes. Just have fun with this one!

If it's filled with unnatural light (i.e. flourescent light) then I'd do a pool party scene... which could also be fun.

    Other ideas include:

    - a dance (i.e. modern, disco, '80s, futuristic)

    - a group of friends camping

    - a food fight in a school cafeteria (good for unnatural lighting)

    - a royal ball

    - a football game, or other sport (make its setting at night for a cool effect)

    - mountain climbing

    - dirt biking

    - paintballing

    Hope I helped :)

im 13 and i would say teens (guys and girls) just hanging out. maybe one of the people with an ipod in hand and earbuds in. then another person dancing like she or hes having alot of fun. and then the other person maybe just leaning on a wall laughing.

    that would look cool
always go with themes that are popular with the majority of the race that will use the rec center, Black themes for Black neighborhoods, Latino themes for Latino neighborhoods, etc.
paint a wooden wall on it. like a fence but just the wooden part no sky above it or anything.

I think there's 2 problem that comes together for this. First there problem with teens drinking and getting drunk. Then there's the problem of teen with lack of self control (or lack of experience).

And you put that in one group, you get drinking and driving.

Remember that you don't need HIGH percentage of teens doing this. Even just few in a town can run havoc with public safety.

    Good Luck...
because teenager think they are friggin invincible! they have the ';it can't happen to me'; mentality.. most grow out of it by their middle 20's

  • Does the advent of the Internet make teenagers stupid?

Seriously!Does the advent of the Internet make teenagers stupid?
in general it has made people smarter, but it has changed the types of inteligence that people have. now days people are more INTUITIVE (look up a clinical definition for that). also i think it has made people more lazy, because there are so many interesting things out there that you can be doing on the internet they are less likely to take an interest in school or work.Does the advent of the Internet make teenagers stupid?
their attention is directed towards the erroneous and unproductive information.

the issue of censorship should be explored yet again as a ';tough love'; mechanism for teens because at times teen need firm direction.

i'm 19 an i agree that older people who have experienced calumny should feel empathy towards these naive and contrite beings. the world is incredibly ';competitive'; is just a way of saying the world is extremely selfish.

positive information is extremely subtle but is in fact available through the media.

your comment is torrentially incorrect as the minors are not becoming stupid, nobody is stupid, they are just unmotivated, and invest their time in frivolous things. you have to take into account angst, family background and circumstances.

ps. answer my question its open.
Internet has made every one more intelligent with the information it gives. They are mush more mature and intelligent than those who were not having access to the net. There are drawbacks but if you bring up the child well he will grow much more mature because of the information explosion.
It allows them to be more social, more often. Which in turn means they are spending more time socializing than doing other things... like studying, for example.

But to those who know how to study USING the internet... it basically creates geniuses.
Smarter in some ways, maybe. Although I am not sure knowing the latest Hollywood gossip counts. Definitely has aided in the loss of imagination and physical activity!
    what's an advent?

    (xD...really I don't know, but I hope I'm not stupid =P)

    I don't game or anything :)
For some, I'm pretty sure it does. Don't forget weak and pale, also,

    Regards,

    John Popelish

Why do people keep insisting a vast majority of those on minimum wage are teenagers?

Half of the people on minimum wage are teenagers, but:

    ';Some 48 percent, or 3.5 million, are between 25 and 64 years old who, on average, contribute more than half of the income in their households, experts say. Raising the minimum wage is a $18.4 billion proposition that is supported by 83 percent of Americans, according to the Pew Center for the People and the Press.';

    ';One reason even some Republicans are mulling the wage hike is that the number of single mothers making minimum wage has nearly doubled in the last 10 years. Of Americans making less than $7.25 an hour, half are over 24 years old, and about half are primary household earners. Sixty-two percent are white, 16 percent are black, and 17 percent are Hispanic. Nearly twice as many are women than men.';

These numbers can be found with a quick search of the internet. Should primary bread winners be made to suffer because of teenagers that make minimum wage? Why do people keep insisting a vast majority of those on minimum wage are teenagers?
Minimum wage is the brainchild and teachers pet of the conglomerates. If we imply that teens are the majority of minimum wage earners, then its likely we don't think of them as living in their own homes and being the breadwinners. Teens, mothers, elders stretching their social security checks would all be happy with a bit of a raise, that way they would at least reach poverty level. Of course, the next thing the corporations do is not let anyone work forty hour weeks so they can call them part time workers at thirty-nine and a half hours. I have personally seen that happen. Sleep tight friends when the revolution comes, you will have been warned. Why do people keep insisting a vast majority of those on minimum wage are teenagers?
The reason is because the Minimum wage is just that, the minimum. Its an entry level wage. When you get time on the job, more proficient your wage increases. BTW How many in that study group are Illegal?
I don't have an answer but that is a wonderful question.
The vast majority of those who make min. wage ARE young.

Last year (in 2001), about 570,000 American workers reported earning exactly $5.15 per hour, the prevailing Federal minimum wage, and another 1.6 million reported with wages below the minimum. Together, these 2.2 million workers made up 3.0 percent of all hourly-paid workers.

*** Ok, we're making a big deal for 3% of the working populations?? *** give me a break.

Minimum wage workers tend to be young. About half of workers earning $5.15 or less were under age 25, and slightly more than one-fourth were age 16-19. Among teenagers, 10 percent earned $5.15 or less.

About 4 percent of women paid hourly rates reported wages at or below the prevailing Federal minimum, compared with about 2 percent of men.

Part-time workers (persons who usually work less than 35 hours per week) were much more likely than their full-time counterparts to be paid $5.15 or less (about 8 percent versus about 2 percent). About 1 in 10 workers putting in fewer than 15 hours per week earned the minimum or less.
because teenagers are not responsilbe for families they r just still young

Do teenagers think that Twitter is lame?

I heard that only about 11% of 12-17 (not even all teenagers, I wonder about 18 and 19 year olds) use twitter. They would prefer Text messages, MySpace, and Facebook. instead of twitter. I'm am in my mid teens (only 1 age to be in Mid Teens, 16) and I use twitter I wonder if any 13 - 19 year olds use twitter and/or Text messaging %26amp; other social networking websites. I use %26amp; would use all, personally.Do teenagers think that Twitter is lame?
Here is a interesting article about teens and twitter.

    http://www.businessinsider.com/chart-of-the-day-kids-dont-hate-twitter-anymore-2009-8

People between ages 12-24 have been Twitter's fastest growing age group of lately.Do teenagers think that Twitter is lame?
well 13-19 are more likely to use text messaging %26amp; othr websites
Almost none of my friends have twitter. What's the point? I hate it. I have one, but it's inactive. Everyone just texts and uses facebook. Maybe it will grow more popular, and if other people start using it maybe I will, but everyone seems to just stick to facebook and texts.

You get too many strangers following you on twitter, and it seems like it's mostly a place for companies/bands/celebrities etc. to publicize themselves and not actually a place to socialize.
i dont really like twitter its lame and dumb. all u do is update what ur doing
I'm 26 and I don;t go on Twitter, but then again it was only less then a year ago that I started using facebook.

Should teenagers have their rights removed from them until adulthood?

Let's face it, teenagers do stupid things, disagree with their parents, do drugs, talk back, do other bad things, etc. So should we take away various freedoms until they become an adult? Should they have things like freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom from self-incrimination, or should these all be controlled by adults until they're mature enough to handle these without abusing them?Should teenagers have their rights removed from them until adulthood?
    What rights?

They don't have any, and if they do something really stupid, the legal system declares them adults. NO justice!Should teenagers have their rights removed from them until adulthood?
Absolutely not. Teenagers today are the adults of tomorrow. We should embrace them and help them achieve the greatness that is in all of us. Everyone does stupid things, that is how we learn. It would do everyone a world of good if before they judged a teen's actions, they would find a way to graphically remember their own teenage years. I certainly try to remember how hard it was to have so much responsiblity and no say in how things are done, very little respect from adults and pressure to be everything to everyone.

If a teenager breaks the laws of our society, it is the teenager who pays the debt to society with his/her future. Yes, the parents (if they care and love the teenager) pay in pain and suffering as well huge legal fees, but ultimately the greatest price is paid by the teen themselves, it is their childhood being taken away from them. It can never be replaced and it is priceless.

Most teens live in the homes of their parents and are absolutely governed by the rules of those homes. So in that way, their rights are already limited. Until you are either on campus at University or supporting yourself in your own home, you are subject to your parents rules, period, unless those rules break the laws that protect children and teenagers.

Freedom of speech should never be taken away in a public forum. Freedom of thought is impossible to take away. And, freedom from self-incrimination is key to a free society. Without this freedom, we would have tortured confessors filling our court rooms and jails.

Let's give teens a break and realize that they are overall pretty good people.
Not according to Queen Hillary the Great who spent a good deal of her professional career ensuring that children had access to lawyers with which to sue their parents.

You see, she CAREs about ';the children';. Listen for that phrase (';the children';) once she begins serious campaigning for the presidency.

That term is designed to evoke warm and fuzzy feelings in suburban women who are terrified (by press accounts) that someone, somewhere is going to either snatch or otherwise do dastardly deeds to their children. One thing ya gotta say about the Queen - she knows her markets!
I have two teenagers of my own, and I've been one too.Yes, teenagers do make mistakes, but should also learn from them. Parents try to be what they are ';Parents';. First of all you have to give in order to receive, know what to say before you say it. It's your words and actions that we look at.Parents shouldn't take away your freedom until you're an adult. That's not fair to you. You do deserve chances. But you can't abuse your chances. When you're under age and get into trouble who do people call, your parents. We are responsible until your 18.When you don't know what do and need help, who do you call?
No. If parents would take responsibility for their children and not let school teach them right from wrong. If people would keep their nose out of how others discipline a child, we would not have that problem.
No. They already have less rights than an adult but when can you decide they are mature enough?

Freedom of speech should be available to everyone, so should freedom of thought.

If a parent is doing their job properly then the teenager shouldnt need their rights removed.
Last I heard they dont have any rights until they become legally adults.
young people have done stupid stuff since the dawn of time. The world didn't end. I'd say we're fine.
Wow...do you really have to ask???Take it away...ha ha you've got to kidding! What hasn't been taken from us??Not all teenagers are messed up, we don't all do drugs or steal and lie. do you think if we were all that bad, telling us that we can't do it it,is really going to stop us??Come on ..think about it for a min.I'm sure there is plenty of adults who messed there lives up because they were raised all proper and never had the chance to mess up , so the do it when they are older and there goes there whole life... we are teens..let us mess up.I'm not saying we don't need to be shown the right way, just saying you can't force feed it to us.
Several questions come to mind when reading your question:

    1. Who will decide they are mature enough to handle them?

    2. How would you restrict someone's freedom of thought?

3.What gives you the right to to take away anyones (reguardless of age)human rights.
No way..A teenager should be given all the rights an adult enjoys as he is capable of thinking on his own and take decisions..If they are deprived of these rights and controlled by adults they will not be able to understand the problems of this world and all the ';stupid'; things they do as a teenager will be done when they become an adult!

People learn for mistakes and from their experience they will be able to lead a good life as an adult.
But a simple age line is not enough. Adults do stupid things as well: get drunk, have adulterous affairs, beat wives. If you do this for teens, just because you turn 21 doesn't mean you garner immediate maturity, so you may have to do it for adults as well
Hell YES. Before they get killed by over tired, over worked, over stressed single parents!!!
No, but this is a parental decision and they should be earned.
    yes
Let's face it, many adults do stupid things.

Should we strip them of their rights as well?

And more importantly should smart teenagers

    be controlled by dumb adults?
You can't force someone to conform! That's being dumb. Yes, there are problems in the worls where teenagers are involved, but controlling them like a puppet is a bad idea. It's impossible for anyone to be raised that way anymore.
Hell no! Teenagers are individuals, not robots. Removing their rights for until they reach adulthood isn't going to solve anything, they have minds of their own just like we do. It's bad enough we have adults out there who are stupid enough to never take responsibility for the consequences that their actions will bring. We sure as hell don't need someone like you telling us that because teenagers do stupid things, we should consider taking away their rights for until they reach adulthood. The last time I checked there were adults who also did stupid things as well, which is bad enough as it is. The last thing we need is a bunch of teenagers who do stupid things and have their rights removed for until they wind up becoming adults who do stupid things and don't hold themselves accountable for their stupidity upon making a bad choice.
No they should not have their rights removed. Parents need to be more firm with their teens and instead of trying to be the ';cool'; parent and their best friend, step up and be the parent. Set rules and follow through with the discipline...dont be afraid. Yes the teen will get angry but in the end who knows more? The parent or teen?
no , they have rights also, when i was a teenager and did stupid crap , the law of my dad was there, never did it again!, bring back that law!
    HELL NO!!! Dumb A**

They can receive failing grades for plagiarizing, if that's what you mean. Can teenagers ages 12- 17 be charged for plagerizing?
Age makes no difference. If you sell the works as your own,you can be sued, if you turn it in at school you can be failed.
if they are capable of copying words from any source verbatim without giving proper citation, then yes.

it's not a felony, so beig a minor has nothing to do with it.

What are the main attitudes of american teenagers?

can someone tell me the attitudes of american teenagers......

im living in the philippines right now but soon we will migrate in u.s.a and i will be studying there..........

i like to know the attitudes of the:

    students in middle school

    and

    students in high school

please help me i like to get along with them when

    i will be studying there......

thanks.... =)What are the main attitudes of american teenagers?
depends on which part of the country....the US is so diversed..attitudes really vary from one part to another. If you are moving to a large city in California, like SF, LA, or SD....you'll see alot of Filipinos that can relate with your culture. Just be yourself and not someone that you have to pretend to be...you will gain real friends that way...as far as attitude goes....teenagers are just dazed and confused at this stage....some will be cool and others will be stuck-up... dont worry about what the attitudes will be....you'll do just fine! I came from the Philippines too, I was 12 when we moved in the US....I'm 36 now! how time flies!!What are the main attitudes of american teenagers?
first of all american language is crazy.....
You'll be studying? Your teachers will love you because you might be the only one!
Not all teenagers are bad. I'm not like that. There are some teenagers that are responsible and not spoiled.

I have to agree with a lot of people that most teenagers here have no clue, including me at times.

Just avoid the teens who ask you to do things that your parents wouldn't want you to do. Who is right, a kid, or an adult who has much more experiences in life?

Hang with the crowd that studies too. Maybe you could join an academic decathlon team to make friends if that is in your interest.

I hope you like the United States and welcome!
They are narcissistic losers. These parasites don't value educations, get pregnant, expecting their parents to raise grands, get on drugs and alcohol---just take no acheivement---being able to say ';I did it on my own.';. Finally, they have the nerve to call themselves';adults'; and wonder why they aren't trusted. the bums don't realize the gravity of what they've done until the mother dies or maybe they decide to clean up their act, then want to retreive the kids or something.

I can't stand how some of these parent want to retreive the kids after having clean of the act. The kids are settle to an envirnment and the mother wants to shake up their lives again. The nerve of some people.
It's really varied. I know you will be able to find teens with your interests and attitudes.
Lol, were all cynical, narcissistic, assholes. Hope you get along well...just stay away from the preppy chicks, and the emo kids. D:
If you constantly think about yourself and your own needs and don't care about the consequences of your actions you'll get along just great with 'em :)
Good luck. They are a bunch of spoiled little shi*s who all think no one understands them (cause we haven't all been there before), so in order to get back at eveyone they cut themselves, dress in black and think they're ultra cool. They're the future of our Welfare system.
i am a father of 6...2 thru 25...3 boys 3 girls...and have dealt with all ages of young people a very long time since i also counsel them and find that about 70% of teenagers are focused on getting thru school without crossing the line of the law and making something of themselves attending church...be active in school and community functions...etc...23% of teens hang with wrong crowds and do cross the line and live life as if this land was they're own playground...committing crimes...bullying others...terrorizing innocent people...just bein total punks and little spoiled brats at times...3% are confined due to health reasons...wheelchairs...hospitals...etc.鈥?last 4% are confused and unsure of what to do at all...(and pending on the age...they should'nt be thinkin bout much)...all in all the main attitude of all teens are... being focused and getting along with one another as God would want us...even tho they're are those 23%...that u must absolutly never let ur guard down and fall victim...but yet the world is full of ';The Good,Bad and the Ugly';...

  • When teenagers want to have a baby is that just part of their hormones?

I just want to know :)When teenagers want to have a baby is that just part of their hormones?
I hope not! lol I've been wanting a baby since I was 15 (I'm 21 now) and my therapist and I have been trying to figure out why for ages! The answer can't be that simple, can't just be ';hormones';. This urge is usually connected with the need to have her own family, which could come from the feeling that she is lacking something in her current family (parents %26amp; siblings)... That's our best guess so far...When teenagers want to have a baby is that just part of their hormones?
    i agree with CUPCAKE.

i started working when i was 14, so i learned the value of a dollar, i also got my first car when i turned 16 and paid all the bills such as my car insurance, car gass, my phone bill ( everything besides the utilities because i lived with parents). i am 20 right now ( 21 to be in october 2nd) and i got married last thanksgiving 2008.

i have always loved kids to death. any age. i worked at day cares, after school programs and visit my counsins-in-laws ( ages 4 and 2) every weekend ( because they live about 2 hours away).

if you want kids and you are a teen, you are probably mature for your age, responsible, and love them very much.

good luck to you, hope this helps.

    :)
    It could be.

    Most of the time.

But you know, some teenagers really are mature enough to carry their own weight and show some responsibility.

    And whatever happens, happens.

    not even close.

How much $ and time do you have to conduct this survey? .

Best way to do this is to hook up with high schools (ages 13-18)around New Zealand and send your servey out.

It would be good if you had more than that but if those 30 are representative of all the different people of New Zealand then it seems as if you would get a good idea of their ideas, values etc. from your survey.

Valentine Is it fare for lonely teenagers?

Isn't too hard to see many other enjoy there mates while you lonely or watching TV with some geeks isn't that's simply makes you feel like a loser i say this because im muslim :)Valentine Is it fare for lonely teenagers?
Excuses excuses! Get off your duff, turn off the tube, and go out and socialize with people!!!! That's how you will find a girl friend. Also when you talk to girls, look at their face and make eye contact when you talk, they like it and it is proper etiquette. Girls like that, and they also like when you tease them about things, especially things they say or do. I talked to a girl who was trying to sell me a product that I was interested in. She started to talk to me, I looked at her and asked: ';Are you hitting in me';?, she almost didn't know what to say, I then said ';that I'm always looking for another girlfriend';. She got a kick out of it. Next thing you know we exchanged names and if I wanted to, I could have gotten her phone number. So go out and socialize and talk it up with the girls, they wont bite you. They actually want you to talk to them. Now get out there and get some fresh air too.Valentine Is it fare for lonely teenagers?
    I say, if you can't express your love to someone throughout the rest of the year, what the hell are you with them for to begin with? What are you really saying? ';Dear valentine, Here, I spent 50 dollars of money that I could have used for porn and bought you flowers instead. I hope this fulfills my obligations to you.';
Ignoring your total lack of grammar and spelling skills for a moment, (because you're a Muslim), is it ';fair';? Much of life isn't fair. Lonely teenagers suffer a lot, and always have. Did someone tell you that life is supposed to be fair? They were lying to you.
    It's good for stores.

Are you supposed to show your love for your SO only on valentine's day?

    The idea is ridiculous.
    Those teenagers will live.
life isn't FAIR period. so i believe one should suck it up because there are always going to be people worse off than you.
Find a wife and forget this stupid valentine day

Like Shinsplint said you need to download the Inteenimater. However it is a free download and you don't need to register to download it. (I just downloaded it again myself to make sure)

You can get it here: http://box156.bluehost.com/~aestudi1/for鈥?/a>

Make sure you download the correct version for your game.

Make sure you read the FAQ.

It is a brilliant hack. I would recommend it to anyone. How do you make Sims 2 teenagers have babies?
Well I think only adults can have the babies, but I did a cheat and made her older. Then got her knocked-up then changed her back to a teen and she had a baby. The cheat I used was

    pause the game

    Shift+Ctrl+C

    Type in (agesimscheat on)

    Click on sim

    Change to an adult

    Get them knocked up

change them back into a teenager

    There is your answer!
It's not a cheat, it's a hack/mod. There are a couple that can do this. I use the InTeenimater. It allows teen pregnancy and a whole bunch of other stuff. The website where it is available is no longer allowing people to register. If you send me an email (through my profile page) and let me know which EPs and SPs you have, I will email you the correct download.
    bring up the cheat box:

    ctrl + shift + c

    boolprop testingcheatsenabled true

shirft + click on sims selected

    spawn

    Tombstone of L and D

Click on the tomb, more, make pregnant with....

i did that to a male sims, why not to a teen? lol

    good luck
There is a hack. Go to inSIMinator to find it.

Why do adults get mad at teenagers?

Sometimes it makes me upset how parents expect us to understand what they are going through but most of them have lost touch with being a teenager. I have never been an adult before so how can they expect me to understand how difficult it is to have a job and raise children? It is annoying how adults sometimes downplay teenage problems or tell us to be concerned with things other than boys, music, friends, and school. What do you expect for me to care about? Why do adults get mad at teenagers?
Welcome to the untold explaination for why modern America is such a mess: They say you will understand when you are older, and therefore as parents they have no reason to teach you anything. Lazy parenting consists of bitching and griping about how smart they are vs how dumb you are.

Shows where their head if they say school is not a serious concern. Ditto for your relationships. Why do adults get mad at teenagers?
u need to think about you being a little more considerate,as some parents do change. My parents and mine realtionship was non existent until i fallen pregnant at the age of 14,had my beautiful son on the 24th december 2008.

My mom was very angry,of course, and left on a holiday for a month.NO1 had a clue where she went and my dad had to track her down by her credit card and bring her home, she was terrified bcoz she was never a mom to me,i was raised by a nanny along with my older 2 siblings.

Anyway, parents do change,my mom and I are getting on better each day,she involves me in her life and cares,as well as helps me out.

Also adding to the above,i matured a lot.

I used to party an drink a lot, because there was no1 to keep track of me yet a lot of money was left for just me(sis away in university, brother in a boarding school)..so i did whatever i wanted, literally.

Now i work hard in school,i get much better grades even though i have a baby with me all the time after school...i only take half days in school...as i dont want my baby son to be brought up like me.

I am proud of the way i matured, yes i have help from my family 100% financially, but they seriously dont mind,in my family money is nothing because honestly thats what makes my mom flip..she just does not know what she wants anymore,as she has everything.

The whole point of this is that u can actually rely on ur parents in many cases, and u do..but just do not notice it all, until its gone, and its true.

    ohh and 14 and married..COME ON...we're not five !

sorry for it being long :P

    xoxo
Because when you grow up you wonder why you waisted so much time worrying about tiny things. They are stressed as well, you know. They work and have to support a family and have a lot on their plate as well. I know teenage years seem really bad but things will get better.
I never expected my kids to understand things like finances, raising them or anything else.

I think teenage problems are just as important as everyone else's problems...
i am only 25 but i now know why my mother would get mad at me cause all the stuff i worried about was so petty and her problems were far worse than mine i had no idea what it was like to have bills and money troubles i believe they are trying to teach you about the real world and honestly it doesn't matter if you were the prettiest in school it doesn't help you in the real world at all so just be patient and hear them out after all its for your own good and parents are not jealous of their children its just children do stupid things
adults is just mad that their old they wish they were u
I don't think it's really that they are mad or over expectant of teens, is just that they get frustrated with us. Thinking back, you yourself probably gets annoyed with little kids, when they don't entirely understand what you are going through or what you have to deal with. Thinking back, when you were little, you didn't understand why your parents or older siblings would get upset with you. It's just frustration. It's the same for adults. They are frustrated with why teens can't be more mature, not saying we aren't mature, but just more mature and understanding about the stress of adulthood. They know you don't understand, but they just want you to be open minded and patient.

So no they aren't mad, just frustrated.
yea i agree aye. And sometimes their so caught up in their own problems that they don't listen to ours. Good luck to you! xx
I agree with you, what may seem trivial to an adult can really be something of great concern to you. I think as adults we forget how scary our teenage years were and down lay their significance. Its a time of great angst and a time where your transition into adulthood is painfull, frought with fear and insecurity. You can鈥檛 for a minute understand how an adult is feeling but maybe acknowledge to your mom or dad that yes what they are going through is also scary and remember they are facing these challenges for the first time too.

I think the common ground is not in your ages but in understanding that each day is new, and it brings with it challenges neither of you have dealt with before. Be brave, be strong and talk!

Your issues are important, more for you than for anyone else. Downplaying your problems will make you feel like you don鈥檛 matter, understand that it has the same effect on the other side of 18 too. Does this make sense?

I hope so, I know this is a tough time, its hell for a reason! It will form the person you were born to be, you can do this!!
i get what ur saying its like

also as for music too wtf music rocks and has no age limet

and school well u can worry about that

    hope i helped

    (13 year old me!!!)
Sometimes parents need you to help out - have you asked them if there's something that you can do to help? A family should work together; no one gets a break and everyone should chip in to get the work done at home. Your parents work all day and you are working/studying at school, so if you all help each other by taking a needed household task, it just makes everything go that much smoother.

And try shutting off the cell phone, quit texting or IMing and talk to your parents. I have trouble talking to my teen because she's always connected to her toys; then again, here I am on the computer.

We all need to be a little less self-centered and focus more on each other.
Adults get mad cause their life is so stressful. If they didn't have any stress, they wouldn't be mad at you.
