Do American teenagers take bags or backpacks to school?

or do they just carry them around like in the tv shows and movies?Do American teenagers take bags or backpacks to school?
I think it all depends on the school you go to... In my school most people, well the girls just use their purses and don't take anything to and from school. That's just because they are failures at life who want to work at Burger King for the rest of their life. So a lot of people, including myself take my backpack to school as well as my purse.





As for carrying them around in school? I don't know. Our school is not allowed to carry back packs or ';anything that can hold books'; (the girls get away with that using our big purses) around school because we kept getting bomb and gun threats everyday.





I don't know how it is for all schools, maybe some carry their backbags around school but that has to get annoying I'd think. I think you should take a backpack to school because there are days when you have a butt load of homework that just two hands simply can't carry.Do American teenagers take bags or backpacks to school?
I have come to a conclusion the I am carrying a backpack this year.


It seriously was a really hard decision but I chose a a backpack because


1. I don't want to carry around a heavy bag with all my stuff on my shoulder, the weight can be more easy to handle on my back


2. It would be embarrassing for a strap or something to break in the middle of the hallway.
They take bags or back packs. They both suck, backpacks atleast take the weight on both shoulders, while bags only one. Either one, no one carries their books home. they can put their bag in their locker and carry just books in school, but they need to bring them home in something for homework
some take bags and some take backpacks. most take backpacks though.


i personally take a backpack but sometimes when i know i'm gonna be carrying lighter things, i'm going to bring a tote bag. so you can say that i use both. some people use both too :)
Some do and some don't. The ones who DO carry backpacks carry relatively small ones.
usually the girls bring bags like that new style thing and guys either dont bring anything or they bring small backpacks :)

at my school your allowed to carry your backpack around the school so you don't have to take frequent trips to your locker.
this year i will have a messenger bag u can carry like a bag but it is also a backpack

book bags defiantly. where i am the most popular brand is jansport and i love it! its so durable
I use a messenger bag and I do carry my books and everything in it.
