Is it okay for teenagers to start soccer? Or can it be utterly embarassing by more experienced team mates?

i posted this a while back. i didnt get many responses. Is it okay for teenagers to start soccer? Or can it be utterly embarassing by more experienced team mates?
I think a few of these people said it pretty well already........ its about passion....the heart has no age..... I started playing when I was 17........ that same year I was a top player on my team and received several honors......it helps to be in shape and mentally prepared to take in information and be able to apply it physically......... but soccers about playing soccer.....not about being good at soccer....... which every strives forIs it okay for teenagers to start soccer? Or can it be utterly embarassing by more experienced team mates?
its fine, but teens stick with what they do so think about it
yeah its okay i play it now and i love it! who cares if its embarrassing!! as long as you know how to kick and run after a ball.. your good!!
As long as a person is willing to play there is no reason not to play soccer, no one should think that they are going to play like Maradona on the first day, it takes a lot of time and practice to become a descent player.

Many professional players have admitted to have started playing soccer when they were teenagers and actually played other sports before they played soccer.
I think it depends on how much you deal with stuff like that.

i think that if you want to start brand new, you should sign up for a team with other kids just starting soccer. But if you are going into a higher league team, then i think that you shouldn't only because the other players may be held back some.

but, if soccer is what you truly love, i suggest maybe waiting a year and totally working on your soccer skills all year until it re-starts.

who knows? you could be great. :)
I would say go for it. that's what a coache is put there for, to relaxe all feeling of nervousness you may soon to have.and I would think your teammates would offer support. So don't worry it's gonna be a team sport. Bring home that trophy.
I would say that it is entirely possible for u to start as a teenager. Ive been playing since i was extremely young and im pretty good now, but the reason i play is because i want to play competitively. Obviously if youre just playing for fun than you can join whenever you want. If youre going to play for a league with players that have played for a long time than you have to usually tryout. If youre in a conditioned enough shape that u can make the team then you should definetly play. You might not be the best but the coaches obviously though you were good enough so have fun!
im 15 and i started soccer when i was like 4. my team will be in sweden for the youth world cup in 1 week. i cannot go because i will be getting knee surgery (so sad) but i will tell you that that would be really hard for the teenager whether it be you or your son/daughter!

something like running would be good. the teenager could join his/her high school track team if it is to keep fit. sometheing like soccer does not only require being in shape, but it requires skills that take a long time to acqire!

at that age the ';hopeful player'; should at least be strong and conditioned or have good stamina if they are really interested in playing.

but i guess nothings impossible so its your choice
as long as you love and have a passion for soccer, it doesn't really matter how old you are
its ok do it i did itll tern out great team menbers will help u to get better if dont do so great
