Why are so many teenagers obsessed with finding boyfriends/girlfriends?

i never really understood that, %26amp; i'm 14


there's plenty of people my age at my school, who are obsessed with losing their virginity, cause they think it's ';cool';





personally, i like being single. %26amp; i want to keep it that way for a while.Why are so many teenagers obsessed with finding boyfriends/girlfriends?
Its a teen thing alright, I look at this way. We spend our younger years trying to avoid the opposite sex, trying not to sit next to them (boy girl seating is a punishment in lower school) because they are strange and alien to us, but you realize how great it is to spend time with them. For me it wasn't so much have a girlfriend but just to spend time with a female, and not look stupid doing so. Maybe others like to take this further than just spending time them.





This is also a time where Teens become more mature and they aspire to that guy who has the nice looking man/women.

It has always been that way.








It is fashionable to be in a relationship at that age. No one wants to feel left out, and many assume that not having one marks them as undesirable.
because it is forced at them from every angle. movies, tv shows, celebrities, peers, and their surroundings stress the importance of having someone, and how great it is to be loved.
Some because if you have a bf/gf then you're ';cool';


Some because a partener makes you feel wanted and special


Some cause its fun.
i am dying to know this as well. I'm 14 and fail to see the hurry in finding someone so quickly. It just puts more stress and drama in people's lives, as if we need anymore!
I don't know. Dating's a pretty good thing, but we're only in high school. It aint serious yet.
