What are some reasons that teenagers shouldn't vote?

I heard a few kids voted YES to prop 8 because they thought it was funny to.

Does that answer your question? What are some reasons that teenagers shouldn't vote?
A teen is in the prime of life. It tends to be too complicated for most teenagers to dive into, or care about. Hence, politics. Granted, there are many prized individuals that care and can have a reason to vote.

However, lawfully, it depends on the specific teen year that you speak of... and in which state.

I'd say that the reason that teens (other than 18 or 19) shouldn't vote is because they haven't had the time to study the govermental systems and all the ramifications of declaring a party... or even a candidate. The general studies would be of much, much greater importance in their individual futures. What are some reasons that teenagers shouldn't vote?
-maybe they don't pay close attention to politics

-maybe they vote just like how their parents tell them to vote

but these are steriotypes and generalizing.

I feel that if they don't pay attention to politics %26amp; the issues, they probably wouldn't take the initiative to go to the polls and vote.

Should the voting age be lowered?

How about this: If they have a job, if they pay income taxes, they can vote.
1. if you are not old enough to join the military you shouldn't vote--that is originally why the age is 18

2. You are not an adult yet so you don't get adult privileges like voting

3. most likely your still in high school and do not have the required education to make a good choice
Because teenagers are too influenced by trends and what their peers are saying/thinking.

Also for the most part they haven't paid taxes. College students too. Take note....

I am 25 years old and I pay anywhere from 4200-5800 a month in business taxes. I have one employee and I bill only 145000 a year. When kids need to start paying rent, health insurance, taxes, business, taxes, city taxes, welfare taxes... etc, they are quick to become republican.

who allows us to have the american dream.
They aren't mentally mature enough to make a fully informed decision.

This doesn't apply to ALL teens, but as I look back on the past I can fully admit that I wasn't, nor were any of the people I knew.

Many teens do not take more than one point or point of view into account before making a decision or judgment. Heck, humans IN GENERAL seem to have this problem at times.
It is quite a shame that most people who are eligible (i.e. at least 18) don't vote. That having said, most teenagers are shallow and self-centered (which is little different from most Americans) and I would not want to see the voting age lowered below 17.
Because they vote from the wrong end of their bodies...!!!! They don't know didley squat about the candidates, or topics, but they're there..

Take for example this past one in the U S... a good portion of the people who voted, can't even spell, or speak properly, but they voted.. Just friggin charming..

And I have many more thoughts on this situation, but I'll take the 5th and keep all that I've built up in here..

A lot of teens follow fads, and don't pay attention to the issues.

Think Jonas Brothers, Twilight, Harry Potter (even though that's a good series), Hannah Montana, etc....
They are more easily swayed by peer pressure, and their frontal lobes (the part of the brain that controls reasoning) are not yet fully developed.
most teenagers who do vote only vote because MTV tells them too. It appeals to a really biased crowd of teenagers.
they would be peer pressure to vote a certain someone.

they would vote whoever they think has the ';coolness';, ';appearance'; etc.

they would not care who they vote for and the consequences after
I believe that everyone should be able to vote as soon as they can understand politics
Just watch a bunch of teenagers at the mall some time. That is, if you're an adult. You'll see why.
What are some reasons why you shouldnt ask questions...?

Any answers to that?
most college-aged students voted for the black man
